Julia Barretto on Kathryn Bernardo: ‘Okay na okay kami ni Kath’

Julia Barretto shared that she has gotten closer to Kathryn Bernardo especially when they traveled together to South Africa and London recently for various projects. She also set the record straight that she doesn't consider Kathryn as her competition.
"Okay kami, sobang okay kami, alam mo it's just the people who are trying to make a big deal out of things pero okay na okay kami ni Kath. We made such a good friendship," she said. When asked to describe Kath, Julia had nothing but good words for the She's Dating the Gangster actress. "She's such a sweet girl, sweetheart siya and I'd like to see her more often and makasama siya more often, napakabait niyang bata," she stated.
Julia recently attended Ella Cruz's debut party who is also a good friend of hers. "Masaya ako kasi she invited me sa birthday niya and she was at my party so bakit hindi ako pupunta? We're really good friends, palagi kaming magsakama sa ASAP and every time na may occasion meron kaming group of friends, palagi kaming magkasama. Sobrang saya niyang kasama at tsaka ano masarap siyang kakwentuihan, I can talk everything with Ella so masarap siyang kasama."
The former Mirabella actress said that she is already looking forward to turn 18. "Lahat kami excited na for it, personally ako gusto ko ng mag 18. Minsan feeling ko hindi na ako 17 eh pero I think I'm responsible enough and I'm ready to be 18," she said.
Amid the many controversies involving her and her family, Julia said that she strives to be positive about things. "It's every human being's choice. It's my choice to be positive and to look at the positive sides of everything. Nasa ‘yo nagsisimula ang lahat, sa sarili mo." She remarked that she still feels fortunate because she has a very supportive mom. "I am the luckiest girl in the world to have a mother like my mom," she stated

Julia Barretto hopes love team with Enrique Gil becomes successful

After almost a one year wait, Julia Barretto is all set for the airing for her debut soap opera “Mira Bella.” It can be remembered that the Kapamilya network announced that Julia will star in the TV remake of the classic film “Confradia.” However, the network decided to scrap the project over complaints about the project’s alleged racist content. This paved way for “Mira Bella,” the young actress’ first major television project after she was launched last year.
In the show, Julia will play as Mira, a young girl cursed with wood-like skin.
“Syempre, when na-cancel yung ‘Confradia,’ nalungkot ako. Pero I didn’t lose hope,” Julia told members of the press in a media gathering on Tuesday, March 11. “Worth it naman yung paghihintay.”
“I want to take it step by step. Ayoko madaliin ang sarili. I don’t want to pressure myself. Dahan-dahan lang. Ayoko naman bigyan sarili ko ng pressure na kailangan ganito na kaagad,” the 17-year-old actress said when asked if she’s pressured by the expectations placed on her shoulders, especially being part of the prominent Barretto showbiz family.
Julia added, “Of course we all start here. And we all work hard.”
The young actress, of course, is the daughter of Marjorie Barretto. Gretchen and Claudine Barretto are her aunts.
Playing Julia’s love interest on the show is actor Enrique Gil, who will play Jeremy, Mira’s blind best friend.
The two are hoping their onscreen partnership will click with the viewers and attain the same success attained by the young love team of Daniel Padilla and Kathyrn Bernado.
“Syempre, kung may love team yung show, mas okay kung mag-click talaga yung love team namin. We’re just doing our best,” Enrique said. “Ginagawa namin ang lahat para sa show na ito.”
Julia added, however, that she’s want to pave her own path in show business as well.
“They (Daniel and Kathryn) are very successful, we all want to be successful. Pero sana different path naman yung mapuntahan ko,” she said.
Enrique and Julia, who turned 17 just recently, spoke to the media to promote “Mirabella” via a birthday party-themed press conference.
Since both young stars say they’re single, the entertainment press jokingly asked Enrique and Julia if there’s a possibility for their
friendship to blossom into a romantic relationship. “I’m just 17 right now and I have ‘Mirabella’ to take care of,” Julia said. “That will come e, di ba? It will come. I have so much time to enjoy right now.”

Agad binigyan-linaw ni Julia Barretto ang bali-balitang dinalaw siya ni Daniel Padilla kamakailan lang sa set ng Mirabella, ang seryeng pinagbibidahan ng young actress. Pumunta nga raw si Daniel duon, pero hindi raw siya ang dinalaw ng aktor. Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at Cinema News si Julia sa nakaraang Jollibee Choice Ko Yum Awards 2013 sa Music Museum last Wednesday, November 6, kung saan host at isa sa mga awardees ang batang aktres.
Sa nasabing interview ay siniguro ni Julia na walang dapat ipag-alala ang KathNiel fans sa kanya dahil fan din siya ng nasabing tambalan nina Daniel at Kathryn Bernardo. Paliwanag ni Julia, "Hindi totoo yun kasi wala akong taping nung taping day na yun ng Mirabella. Second unit ang nandun. Ang binisita niya dun, yung EP [executive producer] na si Ate Karisa, wala ako dun.
"There's nothing to worry about. I'm a KathNiel fan!" Para kay Julia, bilang isang artista ay sanay na siya na madalas nali-link kung kani-kaninong kapwa artista. Hindi raw ito dapat palakihin pa. "Ganun naman talaga sa showbiz, maraming guys ang mali-link sa akin pero di ba, di na kailangang gawin pa na isyu yun," saad niya. Agad na tinanong namin si Julia kung bukas siya saka-sakaling sila naman ang ipareha ni Daniel sa isang proyekto ng ABS-CBN. Mabilis niyang sagot, "I'm open to working with anyone. I really want to work with a lot of actors.
"For me kasi kung ano na lang opportunity ang dumating in the future. I love my job, I love my work." BASHED BY KATHNIEL FANS? Sa isyung lumabas na dinalaw siya diumano ni Daniel sa Mirabella, katakut-takot na pamba-bash ang balitang natanggap ni Julia mula sa KathNiel fans. Ayon kay Julia ay hindi naman daw ito nakaapekto sa kanya at kahit sa kanyang ina na si Marjorie Barretto.
"Siguro normal naman ang ma-bash pero di ko binibigyang atensyon ang mga bashers," sabi ng pinakabagong Barretto child na pumasok sa showbiz.
